Obituary for Joseph Peter Moccio Sr.

Joseph Peter Moccio
January 13, 1934 – August 28, 2017

Joseph Peter Moccio, 83, passed away on Monday August 28, 2017 in Melbourne Florida. He was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He was known by most of his friends as Joe.
Joe graduated from New Brunswick High School. Joe joined the United States Navy, he served as an Airman for four years and was honorably discharged in 1960.
Joe is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jane Moccio. They retired to Melbourne Florida where they have been residence for the Last 21 years, most recently in Arrowood Park. They enjoyed square dancing, travel in their camper, roller skating and bowling.
Joe is survived by his brother, Steve Moccio and his wife Rosemarie Moccio and his sister Miley Mazza.
Joseph was proceeded in death by his brothers, Sal, Ralph, Nick, and Domenic as well as his sisters, Tessie Jaonne and Rose Vastino.
Joe is survived by three children; Joseph Moccio Jr, New Jersey, James Moccio, Las Vegas and Cindy Casciola, Pennsylvania. Three grandchildren; Anna Casciola, Jennifer Casciola and Joseph Casciola. Five great grandchildren; Domenic DeLeon-Reyes, Elias Tyler Casciola, Zyra Marie Casciola, Davina Lynn Casciola and Ezio Casciola.
Joe enjoyed spending time with his family playing sports, fishing, going to yard sales collecting antiques, and fellowship with his friends at the Arrowood Park Club House.
Joe worked for Rhodia Inc., Chemicals and Allied Products where he held various positions including the Captain of the Fire Brigade before he retired in 1996.
Joe was baptized and attended the Calvary Chapel, located in Melbourne Florida.
Jane Moccio and family will receive friends at the Arrowood Club house for a Celebration of Life Service on September 9, 2017 from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
