Julius Richard Koehler
Julius Richard Koehler, 84, of Palm Bay, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 9, with family by his side.
He was born to Bruno and Lucy Koehler on August 20, 1931 in Perm, MN. Julius grew up helping run the family farm and completed school in Perham, MN. He then joined the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He and Norma Christensen were married February 13, 1958, and had ten children together. After some time, he eventually settled in Palm Bay, FL.
Julius was a Class I state-certified general contractor by trade and owned his own construction company. He was also a skilled carpenter. He enjoyed following current events and politics as well as being outside watching the wildlife frolic about. His favorite thing to do was spend quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Julius was a proud veteran.
Julius is survived by a multitude of family including nine of his children, many grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20th at 5pm at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home in Melbourne. He will later be laid to rest at Cape Canaveral National Veterans’ Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay.
